CHLA Endorses Congressman Luetkemeyer’s House Resolution 612

(Washington, D.C.) – The Community Home Lenders of America (CHLA) sent a letter to Representative Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-MO) endorsing his House Resolution 612, which acknowledges the sacrifice and courage of veterans and ensures that Congress does not impose additional fees or costs for benefits earned through this service. Importantly, the letter notes that veterans and active-duty service members should receive their earned benefits as promised and that such earned benefits should NOT be used as “pay-fors” for unrelated government spending.

“Using the fees designated to the VA mortgage to fund other, unrelated federal programs hikes the costs of these benefits and breaks the bargain Congress has made to our all-volunteered armed forces,” said Rob Zimmer, Director of External Affairs for CHLA. “In their great sacrifice and service for our country, veterans should be entitled to their full benefits package at their actuarily-correct and fair price.”
